Kitchen, Utility Room and Bathrooms

Where possible we have placed quick guides to the appliances on the clip board in the kitchen, otherwise the instruction leaflets for all the appliances are in the bottom drawer next to the hob in the kitchen


Coffee Machine

To use the coffee machine first fill the water container located at the back of the machine with tap water – it lifts off the back by pulling gently upwards.Lift up the lever on the front of the machine marked dulce gusto.Pull out the pod container just below the lever and place the coffee pod in the container, push back in.Flip the lever back down.Press the on/off switch on top of the lever.Place your coffee cup on the stand at the bottom of the machine.Move the lever at the back of the on/off switch to the right for hot water and left for cold.The machine only takes dulce gusto pods (Aldi sell a cheaper compatible version)

Dishwasher

To start the dishwasher, press the on/off button (far right button) and the light will come on.Press the ‘P’ button to select the ‘wash cycle’. We usually use the second button from the left which is the normal wash. The economy wash is the third button along if you prefer.Close the door and the wash will start after approximately 10 seconds.Make the door is pushed right in otherwise the wash won’t start. You can tell if the wash hasn’t started because you can hear it.

Electric Double Oven

Please see the instructions located on the clipboard in the kitchen. A copy is also in this folder.

Freezer

The freezer is above the fridge.

Extra Fridge/Freezer space

There is another overspill fridge/freezer located in the outside store room.

Induction Hob

The induction hob is great at heating up quickly but if you are not used to these hobs, the instructions are on the clipboard in the kitchen.

Microwave

Please use the counter top microwave as the one above the oven does not work.To cook in the microwave, press the microwave power pad. Select desired power level. An indicator light appears next to the selected power level.Select cooking time by pressing the appropriate pads.Press start.

Recycling, Rubbish and Food Waste

Please place all recycling, rubbish and food waste in the labelled bins.The household waste bin is in the kitchen.All the other recycling bins are in the utility room.
· Paper and card are put in green bags· Glass and cans are put in green bags· Plastic Is put in pink bags· Non-recyclables are put in black bags Spare bags for all the bins can be found in the cupboard next to the household waste bin in the kitchen. Once the bins are full and/or on your last day, please place all recycling, rubbish and food waste in the relevant bins next to the oil tank at the front of the garden ready for collection on Fridays.

Washing Machine

The washing machine is located in the utility room. The user instructions are next to it on the clipboard. We have found that the best programme to use is the MIXED load.There is a retractable washing line on the patio with hooks on the wall opposite. The hooks can be located by the hanging wooden fish tags.The drying rack in the utility room can be used for hanging washing but it is quite old so please take care when lowering and raising it.

Wine Fridge

Press the on/off key 3 seconds to switch on/off.Child Lock To lock: Press both on/off key and light bulb key at the same time for 3 seconds to lock.To unlock: Press both keys at the same time for 3 seconds to unlock.

Main Bathroom

The main bathroom shower is used via the bath taps. The central ring below the shower hose can be moved up or down to switch between shower and bath.

Shower Room

This is an electric shower and needs to be switched on by pulling the cord next to the light switch by the door.Please make sure the curtain is pulled right across to reduce water splash.Please also make sure that the extractor fan is on to help reduce the build-up of condensation – the extractor fan will come on when you switch the light on.It is a good idea to open the window as the room is quite small and this also helps to reduce condensation.Please ensure you switch the shower off when you have finished.

Utility Room Shower

The Mira shower in the utility room has very good water pressure and is an excellent shower particularly if you are sandy from the beach or muddy from a walk.
